I ran out of paint after painting the walls in the bedroom and went to the same store where I got the other paint and bought another five gallon bucket. I bought the exact same brand, color (ultra white), sheen (satin not semi-gloss), type of paint.
When I was painting the ceiling the roller hit the wall a lot of times and I just thought it isn't a big deal the paint is exactly the same---wrong---after it dried you could see every spot where the roller had hit the wall---it looked terrible. I went to bed last night thinking after it really dried it would be just fine.
When I got up this morning it still looked like HE _ _, so I got into my paint coveralls and repainted the walls on the entire bedroom.
LESSON LEARNED: If there is any chance that you might run out of paint before you finish painting---buy the new paint and mix both cans together. That way it WILL be the same color. Yes White is a color - and yes there are many colors of white - AT LEAST TWO FOR SURE.

That is my husband's advice. If you buy four cans, pour them all together and mix them before painting even one wall. I guess after painting loads of houses, he's figured that out. :)
that sucks...
what a pain!!
Sure looks nice now though---the new curtains are also an added plus toi the room - so sometimes even if you break things you end up with an improvement.
