I am married and have seven children and twenty grandchildren. I retired January 1, 2010 after working 39+ years for the Forest Service...NEW CHAPTER IN MY LIFE HAS BEGUN!
Started today right - actually did my exercises - even though I am sore from yesterday. I think it will get easier as time passes. I can't believe I have let myself deteriorate to the physical state I am in.
I did some exercises the other day, and ended up screwing my elbow up somehow. I keep hoping it'll fix itself, but for two days I couldn't even raise my right arm high enough to shampoo my hair. Have you ever shampooed strictly with your non-dominant hand? It's not easy. Luckily for me, my right arm worked well enough to wipe after dropping dooce. TMI? Never. Not me.
Keep up with the exercise. I have seen a 60 year old complete an Iron Man (all 140 miles of it) and run trail marathons with men in their mid 70's. You are still young!

Looney---that is one of the things that retirement is going to fix for me---I do have time to take care of myself.
I've been playing basketball 2 nights a week for about a year...I am finally getting into decent shape...
