Someone asked me what I was going to wear for Halloween and I told them a western shirt, Wranglers and cowboy boots. Inklings said I should step it up a little and at least wear my black hat.
I never realized until one of my employees told me after I left the district that this was called my bastard hat. She said I only wore it when things were gonna get really bad for someone. I honestly didn't know that was happening. I have three different colored Stetsons. Silver (taupe), brown and this black one. Guess I have one for every occasion. ;-)

The shiny pin is the Cowboy guardian angel from Montana Silversmiths---it was given to me by a friend when we moved from Flaming Gorge.
What kind of mood are you in when you wear the silver or taupe ones? ;)
I saw the pin and wondered what it was, so I was glad you explained it. My husband used to wear stetsons but changed to more of an Indiana Jones type hat. He wore it all over Ireland and I told him he screamed: "American". :0)
The silver one is for good times and the brown one is for brown days. I'm sure you can figure that out.
80 kids is quite a good turnout. It would have been fun to see a few.
