Some say the world will end with fire.

Others say with ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those that favor fire.

But if I had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate,

To say that for destruction ice,

Is also great and would suffice.

Can't remember who wanted to see some pictures of fire but here some of my favorites.

The first is a column just beginning on a prescribed fire we did a couple of years ago. It turned out beautiful. The second is a column and the shadow of the column on the smoke from the fire. It was a wild fire on the Arizona Strip and is one of my all time favorite pictures of fire. The last is a photo of a NIGHT FIGHT. If you time it right you have a really good chance of success cutting a fire off at a ridge top.

It was me - and thanks, those are some REALLY cool pictures, I love the ones like the last one with the silhouettes against the glow from the flames, so cool! :)

Nice pictures!

The first picture looks like an atom bomb has been set off. The NIGHT FIGHT picture looks like it could be the picture for the cover of a book. Cool pics!

I probably have over 10,000 pictures of fires I have been to in the last 25 years. Since digital cameras came out we have made a CD for every one on the team of everyones pictures - three week fires render a lot of photos - not all of them are good though.

Nene the first picture was taken just as we were starting the ignition....a couple of hours later it looked a lot more like a bomb went off. The top of the column went through the stratosphere and ice capped. That means the water in the column froze and it turned bright white.
