Some say the world will end with fire.

Others say with ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those that favor fire.

But if I had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate,

To say that for destruction ice,

Is also great and would suffice.

CATCHIN' UP

Last fall I was doing a rehab project for three large fires so I didn't get around to doing the maintenance on my rain gutters.  Well that is part of the reason.  The rest of the reason is that the leaves did not fall off our trees until during the snow storm that put all the snow on our roof.

While we were eating lunch yesterday Inklings said "It must be warming up, there is water running off our roof everywhere."  That is really bad because it means the rain gutters are plugged and some of the water is going back under the first layer of shingles on the roof.

I got up and went out to unplug them.  I have had some problems with balance the past few months so didn't dare get on the roof to clean them so I got out my extension ladder and cleaned them off that.  It made Inklings nervous so she came out and handed me things I needed to do the job and took care of getting the hose to me and turned on when I was ready.  Our neighbor from across the street was also nervous and yelled at me to be careful not to fall and watched until I finished the gutter on the side she could see.

It is nice to have this job done and it will last until at least November when the leaves again fall into it.  I have quite a bit of work to do on the gutter itself when it gets nicer outside sop maybe I will add the gutter protectors that supposedly make it so the leaves don't plug the gutter.  It would be nice not to have to do this job every year---SOMETIME---

I don't call it procrastination cause at least you jumped up and went and did the job right away when you saw the water!

Your ladder setup looks pretty stable.

Looney---that is the best money I ever spent on a ladder. It makes into a lot of different ones and they are all stable---probably built for old people.
