This past two weeks has been pretty frustrating. I am supposed to start the fire rehab next Monday. They have been trying to figure out how to hire me to do the contract inspections for the last few acres. They have taken me through many iterations and still don't have it resolved so maybe the contractor will start without an inspector---time will tell.
I have learned one thing from this project. I will never agree to do another one of these unless it can be completed within 90 days of the fire burning. That is the break point for emergency as defined in the emergency fire hiring book. I have been really tempted to just call back and tell them I'm not doing this anymore. I do feel somewhat obligated though because the contracting officer held on to this contract after moving to another job because he thought we would just finish it as easy as the first part and close it out.
I have no doubt it will be done as easy as the first part but it sure has been tough getting through the process---gave them copies of my driver's license, gov't. driver's license, vehicle insurance that insures me to drive any vehicle, and updated defensive driving card yesterday.
I AM PRETTY TIRED OF BEING TREATED LIKE I AM TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SOMETHING

Well at least you can say, "This is another reason why I retired!"
Hang in there! :0)
Nene---that is one reason I retired---NO COMMON SENSE---I told the Contracting Officer yesterday that the only reason I am going through with this is because I told him I would and he kept this contract when he went to a new job because of that.
