I think it comes from years of monitoring and participating in emergency problems but I have been monitoring the coming flood for a couple of weeks. It won't be long before the sandbagging starts in earnest. I think if I had a house that was going to be threatened I would get it done now. The water is going to get there---just a matter of when now.
This is a field looking east from the road.
Same field with a couple of Canada Geese looking for their nest site from last year---it's under water.
This picture is of where the river leaves it's banks and starts filling the valley.
This picture also shows the river leaving it's banks. This is very near where the picture above is taken.

Wow, that is crazy! I hope you aren't affected by it! And I hope Mr. Giggles gets some sand bags for his property!
MMMMM Delirious---nobody does that until the water gets there---NOBODY---see the last sentence of my blog.
Is this flooding widespred in your state?
I think the snow pack in the entire state is way higher than normal---flooding depends on how warm it gets and how fast. We are for in for more than this.
Does anyone build with floods in mind? Some parts of the world the houses are built up on stilts!
Looney, not around here. I've seen the stilts in Louisiana and raised foundations in Florida---they didn't work either.
